Victoria Hall Project (Lampeter Peoples Market) update
27 April 2009
On 2 April members of Transition Llambed met with a representative of Ceredigion County Council to discuss the feasibility of taking over the management of the Victoria Hall.
We wish to provide a venue for a local produce and goods market and a far ranging community facility for Lampeter and the surrounding areas. This is to be done under the umbrella and ideals of Transition and hopefully it will become a flagship project for the movement.
The meeting was extremely positive and it is entirely feasible that the project will proceed.
Obviously this is a huge undertaking for us and we will need and welcome the support of everyone wishing to see it a success. It has become apparent that amongst our membership we have a wealth of talents and skills that could assist in the various aspects of the project. We already have a committed group focusing on the potential uses of the Hall but we would welcome anyone with time and energy to commit to the idea in whatever capacity you may have to offer.
If you wish to have further information about the plans and ideas to date or wish to join the group please contact me.
